With a Sing-In, sneak preview and concert all in a week’s time, the School of Music’s Voice Program has hit the ground running this season. But this evening’s performance promises to slow things down with music meant for a summer night.
At 2 p.m., during the School of Music’s annual Sing-In, the students will face their fate—some accompanied by nerves and others nudged by confidence, all ready to showcase their talents.
Opera singers, 27 in total, took the stage last Monday evening at Norton Hall for the Chautauqua Opera Company’s introductory sing-in. Called an “Evening of Arias,” the soireé was not only geared toward introducing Chautauquans to this season’s young sopranos, mezzos, tenors and basses, but also a means of introducing the artists to their summer-long endeavor at the Institution.
