From firsts to last: Studio Artists to end season with ‘explosion’ of sound

At 4 p.m. today in Norton Hall, the 18 singers will be performing a part of an opera Scenes Program. Similar to the Highlights Concert their fellow Apprentice Artists performed during Week Four, the Studio Artists will be taking center stage with their own biggest highlight of the season.

Fit for the stage: Daily workouts a priority for opera company

It’s 9 a.m. on a Tuesday, and Brandon Coleman and his “Fitness Crew” have just sprinted 800 meters through Bestor Plaza. Before that, they went on a 4-mile run, did 10 push ups, 10 jumping jacks and one-minute wall sits. Tomorrow, they’ll push for 5 miles — if they have the time.
