Named after a Brazilian slang word meaning “country bumpkin,” Matuto plans to intoxicate listeners with its vibrant and refreshing musical cocktail at 8:15 p.m. tonight in the Amphitheater.
Most of the time, conductor Jaime Laredo lets cellist Sharon Robinson decide how the music she plays will sound.

The Rev. Daisy Machado has a powerful inner compass that helps her navigate the world and allows her to tell stories that build bridges between people. At the 5 p.m. Sunday Vespers in the Hall of Philosophy, Machado shared what the power of social location meant for her.
