The historic Chautauqua Golf Club will be hosting a beer and wine tasting from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. It will feature highlights from local breweries and vineyards.

Some of the beers to be offered aren’t available nationwide. For the returning Chautauquan, the event will be a chance to enjoy a taste of the region that they may have enjoyed last year. For the newcomer, it will be a chance to taste the heady mixes that the region has to offer.

Admission is $20. In addition to the beer and wine, there will also be finger foods, cheese and crackers and beef on weck sliders.

First, Jack Voelker, general manager of the Chautauqua Golf Club, spoke about the efforts Chautauquans might not know the golf club is taking to be more environmentally friendly.
